Why use File Compressor

  • Private and secure

Your image is sent over an encrypted connection to our server in Europe and stored under a random ID. It is never shared with third parties or used to train AI. Download links expire after 60 minutes; files are then deleted automatically, normally within 75 minutes. Read the privacy policy

  • Honest results

Choose a quality preset or a target size. The result shows the exact size before and after, and says so if a file can't get any smaller.

  • Free, no sign-up

File Compressor is free with no account, no watermark and no ads. It works in any modern browser on phone or desktop.

In short

Compress WebP re-encodes still WebP images at the quality you choose (presets map to 82, 72 and 55) and keeps the WebP format and transparency. A target size is supported. Animated WebP files are rejected for now so their animation isn't lost.
